Green Dortmund - The Westfalenpark
Did you know that the first Federal Horticultural Show took place in Dortmund in 1959? For this reason, the 60-hectare Westfalenpark was created, which today is the city's green haven.
Here you can rest on numerous lawns and meadows and observe one of the many ponds. Enjoy the heath landscape or the sight of the East Asian plants around the Florianturm. You will also find a dahlia garden and many tropical plants in the Westfalenpark.
In the Rosarium about 2600 different kinds of roses are taken care of, which you can look at. The Westfalenpark also offers...

- And a 1.8 km long adventure trail as well as a Kneipp facility
Discover Westfalenpark on foot or take a train through the park. If you prefer a bird's eye view of the park, you should take the cable car and enjoy the view.
If you want to go even higher, you can go up to the viewing platform of the Florian Tower. The tower is 220 metres high, the viewing platform is about 140 metres high and it was also built for the first Federal Garden Show.

Opening hours of the Florian Tower:
Wednesday - Friday 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. & Saturday, Sunday & holidays 12:00 noon - 8:00 p.m.
